We would like to take this opportunity of introducing you to our newly completed and privately owned Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, also referred to as KMIA, operated by Primkop Airport Management (Pty) Ltd. The airport was constructed in an African theme. The terminal building is under thatch, which covers an area of 7350 square meters. The unique aesthetics and décor of the building blend in with the surrounding bushveld, which has become a favourite landmark among passengers and visitors.

We commenced business operations in October 2002 as a builder operator. KMIA has opened up the skies over Nelspruit for international and local travellers, affording new opportunities to the tourism and business industries of the province.

KMIA is the official port of entry of Mpumalanga, situated in the heart of the lowveld (23 km's from Nelspruit and 14 km's from White River), in close proximity to many scenic, heritage and conservation sites. The famous Kruger National Park is a mere 30 minute car drive from the airport. KMIA is also commonly referred to as "Kruger Airport" in the aviation and tourism industry.

KMIA Vision and Value
Vision Statement
To be Africa's preferred tourist airport.

Mission Statement
To provide service excellence to all airport users ensuring a unique Mpumalanga experience and sustained growth for the benefit of all stakeholders.

KMIA is an ICAO approved International Airport, with a runway of 3,100m x 60m, that can accommodate Boeing 737,747,767 and Airbus series. We pride ourselves in being the holders of a category 8 international aerodrome licence, a first for the Province.
KMIA also offers the potential for the development of large airline cargo handling. Recently we have seen a concerted effort by business and government to explore this initiative, which is receiving priority. It is expected that cargo could easily outstrip passenger volumes in the near future.  Since opening our doors for business, KMIA has seen a steady growth in volumes and brand awareness.
Today KMIA is a household name in our province with brand awareness continuing its focus on domestic and international clients. Our existing tenants are all highly respected businesses having branches in other major domestic and international airports.
We are experiencing an increasing number of international charter airlines visiting KMIA.  Domestic passenger volume show a steady rise mainly from the other major domestic airports, namely Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg and Lanseria. KMIA presently handles 32 scheduled and an average of 21 non-scheduled movements daily, with an approximately 22 000 feet moving through KMIA each month.

New airlines are showing an increasing interest to fly to KMIA, while existing airlines are looking at expanding their present schedules to accommodate passenger demands.  KMIA is the international gateway to Mpumalanga with direct access to the world-renowned Kruger National Park and world famous private game lodges in the greater Kruger.

The Kruger National Park is the essence of the Mpumalanga region.  Visitors to this famous wildlife sanctuary are overwhelmed by the experience of spotting and observing wild animals in their natural habitat of bush and sub-tropical vegetation, set in fertile valleys and majestic mountains.  The Kruger National Park
has a rich biodiversity of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, plants, flowers and 380 species of trees.

The Greater Limpopo Trans-frontier Park,  a cross-border initiative that unites the Kruger National Park
in South Africa with parks in Zimbabwe and Mozambique.  The total surface area of this park is approximately 40 000 km. Entering through Kruger Park, tourist will be able to drive across the borders of three countries experiencing a wide range of culture, food, crafts, wildlife, birds and stunning topography.
